Donetsk, Feb 2 - DAN. DPR medics have provided assistance to nearly 700 residents of Kiev-held areas of Donetsk region under the Donbass people reunification humanitarian programme this year, the Republic’s Health Care Ministry press service told Donetsk News Agency on Friday.

“As of 1 February 2018, 690 patients living in Kiev-controlled territory of Donetsk region have received tertiary health care under the aegis of the humanitarian programme,” the press service said.

One hundred and eighteen patients took a chemotherapy course and had surgery or X-ray therapy and gynaecology services were provided to 13 women. DPR medics have also helped deliver 20 babies since the humanitarian programme was launched.

On February 17, the Donetsk People’s Republic launched the Donbass people reunification programme to support socially vulnerable groups of the population. The health care segment of the programme envisions medical assistance in seven fields including obstetrics, chemotherapy and prosthetics. *jk
