Donetsk, Dec 7 - DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic medics helped deliver 90 babies as part of obstetric aid provided under the aegis of a humanitarian programme, DPR Health Care Ministry reported on Thursday.
“Ninety babies were born at the Donetsk Republican Maternal and Child Health Centre providing obstetric aid under the Donbass People Reunification humanitarian programme," the Ministry's press service said.
The range of humanitarian programme medical services expanded from mid-October as patients were offered assistance in delivery and gynaecological surgery. More than 50 women from Kiev-controlled areas of Donetsk region used new services, it said.
“We provide assistance to women from the moment of confirmed pregnancy through delivery by caesarean section or standard procedure and have experienced neonatologists monitor newborns’ health,” the press service quoted Maternal and Child Health Centre gynaecologist Alexander Petrov as saying.
On February 17, 2017 DPR and LPR authorities approved the Donbass people reunification programme. The main goal of the programme is to support socially vulnerable groups. *jk
