Donetsk, Feb 21 – DAN. DPR and LPR medical centres will admit patients from Kiev-controlled part of Donbass for free-of-charge treatment, acting DPR Foreign Minister Natalia Nikonorova told a news conference at Donetsk News Agency on Tuesday.

“People from all over Donbass come to Donetsk and Lugansk for medical treatment. We still have the best medical institutions in the region. Due to an acute shortage of skilled medical assistance in Donetsk and Lugansk Regions we are ready to provide free healthcare services to our fellow countrymen in a number of fields,” Nikonorova said.

Donetsk V.K.Gusak Emergency and Reconstructive Surgery Institute will admit cardiac patients. Endoprosthetics services are available at Donetsk Republican Traumatology Centre. DPR and LPR Oncology Centres admit both adults and children requiring non-standard procedures and surgery. Obstetric services are provided by the Donetsk Republican Maternal and Child Health Centre and the Lugansk Perinatal Centre.

The Republics’ medical institutions are to complete equipment upgrades this year.

LPR Council of Ministers First Deputy Chairman Alexander Drobot noted effective interaction between LPR and DPR medical centres.

On 17 February, the DPR and LPR leaders approved a programme of financial and medical assistance and educational services to vulnerable groups living in Kiev-controlled part of Donbass.*jk
