Donetsk, Oct 17 - DAN. Makeyevka will host the initial game of first ever football club competition Donbass Cup Winners’ Cup 2017 involving DPR and LPR teams on 21 October, DPR Sports Ministry press service told Donetsk News Agency on Tuesday.
“Donbass Cup Winners’ Cup tournament will run for the first time in DPR and LPR history,” the press service said. “Makeyevka-based Arsenal will play Shakhtyor from Sverdlovsk (LPR); both teams won the Republics’ football cups this year.
The tournament comprises two games. The first will take place at the Dudinskiy Junior Football Club stadium in Makeyevka on 21 October, the return game will be played in Lugansk on 28 October.
“All Donetsk Region residents are invited to see the Donbass Cup match,” the Sports Ministry said, adding that the event would be held under the aegis of the Donbass people reunification humanitarian programme.*jk
