Donetsk, Jun 14 - DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic authorities will provide one-time financial benefits to families with disabled children under 18 years of age, the Republic’s acting Labour and Social Policy Minister Larisa Toltsykina said at a press briefing at the Donetsk News Agency on Thursday.

“The DPR launched one-time financial assistance for the families with disabled children under 18 years of age on June 1, 2018,” Tolstykina said. “The payments, timed with International Day for Protection of Children are meant to provide additional financial support to parents.”

To request financial aid, applicants have to contact the Welfare and Government Services Centres at the crossing points between the DPR and Ukraine. The aid package is worth 5,000 rubles or 2,500 hryvnas per each child. The first payment to this group of citizens was made on June 13. A large family from the Selidovskiy district of the Donetsk region received 2,500 hryvnas for its handicapped child and another 3,000 hryvnas as a large family.

The Donbass people reunification humanitarian programme website lists the documents which have to be submitted by recipients.

“We invite everybody to come and collect the financial aid they’re entitled to till December 15, 2018,” Tolstykina said.

The Donetsk People’s Republic has been implementing the humanitarian programme since February 17, 2017. It provides for medical and financial assistance, quotas for higher and vocational education for residents of Kiev-held areas, and their involvement, together with DPR population in sport and cultural events and measures aimed to preserve spiritual and cultural values in the region. *jk
