Donetsk, May 25 — DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic Acting Head Denis Pushilin has met with visiting Kemerovo region governor Sergey Tsivilev to discuss prospects for cooperation between the regions and the rebuilding of Gorlovka.

The Russian region has sent textbooks and office equipment to schools in the DPR’s frontline town,  sponsored recreation and rehabilitation of 500 children, and has plans to make arrangements for the recreation of another 1,100 children this year.

Kemerovo region authorities provided major support to Gorlovka in preparing for the heating season last year and will help with road maintenance, Pushilin said adding that the security situation was an obstacle to the rebuilding process.

“Gorlovka is actually on the frontline, so the enemy uses any opportunity to shell town neighborhoods and social infrastructure facilities, ” he said.

Tsivilev said that he had come to the DPR to meet with its leadership and see for himself the progress in rebuilding works. The governor also said that a memorial complex “Donbass Defenders” would be built in the regional center of Novokuznetsk.

The Gorlovka administration and the Kemerovo region government signed a cooperation agreement in June 2022.*jk
