Donetsk, Apr 25 - DAN. More than 800 phone calls have been made to DPR Health Ministry hotlines over assistance provided under the Donbass people reunification humanitarian programme.

“Overall, 817 phone calls were made to the Health Ministry hotlines. As of 25 April 2017, 45 patients were on the waiting list,” the Ministry press service reported on Tuesday.

As many as 176 calls came from residents of Ukraine’s Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk, Vinnitsa, Poltava, Zaporozhye, Odessa and Kherson regions. The majority of callers (49 percent) are interested in prosthetic services. The Ministry earlier reported that obstetric aid had been provided to seven residents since the Republic launched the programme of humanitarian assistance to residents living in Kiev-controlled part of Donetsk Region.

On February 17, DPR and LPR Heads Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Plotnitskiy launched the Donbass people reunification programme. The main objective is to support socially vulnerable groups of the population. The health care segment of the programme envisions medical assistance in seven fields including obstetrics, chemotherapy and prosthesis. *jk
