Donetsk, Jul 26 — DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic fixed line operators will switch to the Russian code starting August 1, the DPR Communications Ministry said on Tuesday.

“From August 1, 2022, the DPR fixed telephone communications network will use the Russian code +7 (856), ‘ the Ministry said.

The subscribers’ domestic phone numbers will remain unchanged.

“For example, (+38062)1234567 will change to (+7856)1234567. Detailed information on the upcoming changes is provided by the fixed line operator, ” the Communications Ministry said.

In May, the Republican mobile operator Phoenix assigned Russian phone code +7 949 to subscribers for calls to Russia.  The other part of the phone number matches the current number of home network users. The move eased access to the Government Services portal and other Russian online services which request the user to fill in a Russian number during registration.

The Lugansk People’s Republic fixed telephony operators switched to the Russian code +7 (857) on July 25.*jk
