Donetsk, Aug 29 - DAN. Ten residents of Kiev-controlled part of Donetsk Region had successful hip replacement surgery in DPR under the Donbass people reunification humanitarian programme, DPR Health Care Ministry press service reported on Tuesday.
“Ten people from Kiev-held areas of Donetsk Region and three DPR residents have had medical assistance in hip prosthetics under the humanitarian programme,” the press service said. “The patients are now recovering; stiches will be removed next week.”
Another three DPR residents and as many residents of Kiev-held areas of Donetsk Region have been admitted to hospital; they are undergoing tests and preparing for surgery, it added.
“The surgery went off well. I feel wonderful, although I was in a sorry state before. I used to walk on one leg nearly all the time using crutches. The doctors did a fine professional job. My thanks to the humanitarian programme and Alexander Zakharchenko who thinks not only about DPR residents but also helps us visitors. It’s very pleasant to see that attitude in our difficult time,” the press service quoted a patient from Kiev-controlled territory as saying.
On February 17, DPR and LPR Heads Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Plotnitskiy launched the Donbass people reunification programme. The main goal of the programme is to support socially vulnerable groups. The health care segment of the programme envisions medical assistance in seven fields including obstetrics, chemotherapy and prosthetics.*jk
