Donetsk, Sep 29 — DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic Supreme Court has passed a guilty verdict in the criminal case against a driver of Ukraine’s 36th Marine Brigade who shot and killed two civilians in Mariupol last year, the press service of the DRP Prosecutor’s Office reported on Friday.
“The Court ascertained that in April 2022, driver Dmitry Skoropupov, 33, delivered fire from Mariupol’s Ilyich steel mill at three civilians in the street as he followed the order to shoot to kill any person on sight, including civilians and non-combatants, ” the press service said. “Two men died of their wounds on the spot and one managed to escape.”
Skoropupov was found guilty of hate murder, attempted murder and cruel treatment of civilians in occupied territory. He will serve his sentence in a maximum security penitentiary.
Earlier reports said that a criminal case against a Ukrainian army company commander who ordered to kill a civilian in Mariupol would go on trial.*jk
