Donetsk, Mar 12 – DAN. The DPR public committee for registering Ukrainian authorities’ war crimes has changed its status to an organization and adopted a new name of Fair Defense, its representative Ivan Kopyl told DAN.

"The public committee continues to gather evidence of Kiev's war crimes in Donbass. In February our experts – lawyers, journalists, public activists – registered an organization and named it Fair Defense."

He said the organization pursues the same goals despite changing its status. Its activists will keep conducting independent examinations of shelling cases, terror acts and other crimes committed by Kiev against Donbass residents.

The public committee on recording Kiev forces war crimes was launched in mid-2015. Criminal and law experts aim to gather data on the crimes the Ukrainian armed forces committed in Donbass. The Special Committee on Ukrainian crimes has also been launched under DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko order. *ot
