Donetsk, Sep 15 – DAN. Ukrainian politicians addressed ecological issues of Donbass only after the Joint DPR inspection on monitoring and control of infrastructure in Kiev territory published its report, a member of the commission, director of civil safety department of the DPR Ministry of Emergencies Vadim Kapustin told DAN.
"Our work was rewarded with the reaction of Kiev's authorities. The so-called ATO spokesmen began commenting, the Contact Group members made statements. Our work also helped some social organizations. We voiced the issue previously unaddressed," he said.
Kiev representatives visited some of the objects mentioned in the inspection's report, though only to try to dismiss the conclusions DPR experts made.
Kapustin said that Kiev currently uses ecology as a PR stunt.
"The objects are not monitored, equipment is outdated, maintenance is not being carried out or planned," he added.
The Joint DPR inspection on monitoring and control of infrastructure in Kiev territory has analyzed data from 40 enterprises under Ukrainian control, which affect ecology in Donbass region. *ot
