Donetsk, Jan 20 – DAN. The basic products of the basket of consumer goods are up to 30 percent cheaper in the DPR than in Ukraine, said the head of the Central Executive Committee of the Donetsk Republic social movement Alexey Muratov.

"While Ukrainian are being fed that economy is growing, its State Statistics Service has published the date on price changes. The statistics is but shocking. Meanwhile, the DPR is effectively battling crises. The prices for basic products of the basket of consumer goods are 10-30 percent lower than in Ukraine; transport is 2-6 times cheaper, household bills are lower by the same amount."

The prices in Ukraine grew threefold in the past nine years. Household bills grew by 440 percent, transport – 212 percent, education – 147 percent, medicine – 146 percent.

"It is clear that Donbass has made the right choice in 2014, it is much more perspective that Ukrainian "European choice", Muratov said.
Earlier reports said that DPR pensions are 13 percent higher than in Ukraine after the Republic raised the payments by 20 percent.*ot
