Donetsk, Mar 1 - DAN. All settlements across the Donetsk People’s Republic will have round-the-clock water supply, DPR Construction and Housing and Utilities Deputy Minister Vitaliy Kizhayev told Donetsk News Agency on Thursday.

“The Republic’s population should have round-the-clock water supply, according to the DPR head’s orders,” Kizhayev said. “As of today, we’ve arranged permanent water supply to nearly all settlements.”

The towns of Debaltsevo, Shakhtyorsk, Torez and Snezhnoye cannot have stable water supply at present due to old equipment, but the Ministry is settling the issue together with the Voda Donbassa state-owned water supply company, he added.

Previously, water was supplied to certain DPR settlements on hourly basis. DPR authorities have been restoring and upgrading the region’s water supply network since the beginning of the conflict.

In 2017, repairs were completed on an electrical substation in Novozaryevka village in Starobeshevskiy district to resume water supply after an eight-year pause.

DPR specialists also brought forward three-billion-ruble projects ($53 mln) to optimise the Republic’s water supply system. Works will be carried out in Snezhnoye and Shakhtoyorsk towns in DPR east and in Starobeshevskiy district in the south which experience problems with trunk water supply lines.*jk
