Donetsk, Oct 27 – DAN. Donetsk water treatment plant (DFS) has come under Kiev forces' shelling today, staff has been partially evacuated, a representative of the state water company Donbass Water said.
"The shelling began at around 3.30 p.m., two shifts were present at the plant, one of them was urgently evacuated, another remained at work places," the interlocutor said.
The JCCC said the shelling had been carried out from the positions of Kiev forces in Kamenka, outside Avdeyevka.
"Two 82mm mortar rounds have been fired in the vicinity of the DFS; the road came under small arms and large-caliber small arms fire," the JCCC report said.
Donetsk water treatment plant, located between Yasinovataya and Kiev-controlled Avdeyevka has long been a trouble spot on the contact line in Donbass. It supplies water to both sides of the contact line, DPR-controlled Donetsk and Yasinovataya and Vasilyevka and Spartak villages, and Kiev-controlled Avdeyevka, Krasnogorovka and Verkhnetoretskoye village. DFS often comes under Ukrainian forces fire, though it stores chlorine. Overall, more than 370 rounds have hit the plant’s territory in the course of the conflict. *ot
