Donetsk, Apr 4 - DAN. The asphalt plant of Donetsk Road Repairs and Construction Department (DRSU) company relaunched production following the adoption of Russian standards and equipment upgrades.

“Yesterday, we launched the plant, the only one of its kind in Donetsk, in accordance with the approved road repairs plan,” DRSU head Sergey Skidanov told reporters on Tuesday.

“This year, we plan to produce some 60,000 tons of asphalt mixture. In April alone, the output is to reach 7,000 tons to repair 40,000 square meters on 90 city streets,” Skidanov said.

As the facility switched over to Russian standards this winter, the equipment was upgraded for use of agents enhancing asphalt elasticity. Equipment using the emulsion works under all weather conditions.

Acting Donetsk administration head Alexey Kulemzin visited the asphalt plant on Tuesday. He said the authorities had made big road repair plans in connection with poor road maintenance in the past few decades.

“We’re now completing the works planned last year,” Kulemzin said. “In 2017, we’ll continue local roads repairs, urban roads resurfacing and road construction in private residential areas.”

The asphalt plant is a DSRU affiliate providing 25 urban development services, such as road repairs, city cleaning, traffic light maintenance and superstructure replacement. *jk
