Donetsk, Mar 17 — DAN. The Donetsk prosthetic center will implement an upgrade project worth one billion rubles, Donetsk People’s Republic Head Denis Pushilin said.
“The Reserve Fund of Russian President Vladimir Putin has allocated about one billion rubles to renovate the Prosthetic and Orthopedic Center in Donetsk, ” Pushilin said. “The money will be used for construction and installation works and modernization of equipment.”
The center will have 3D production pipelines and the equipment to produce bionic limbs and other assistive devices. It will also set up a center for rehabilitation of people with disabilities for some 60 patients, he added.
“We plan for our upgraded Prosthetic and Orthopedic Center to treat patients from the DPR and neighboring regions, ” Pushilin said.
Established in 1945, the Donetsk Republican Prosthetic and Orthopedic Center is part of the DPR social protection system. It is the only enterprise in the Republic which specializes in the production of assistive devices.*jk
