Donetsk, Dec 13 — DAN. A New Year tree will not be installed in Donetsk’s Lenin Square, Donetsk People’s Republic Acting Head Denis Pushilin said on Tuesday.
“I conferred with Donetsk administration head Alexey Kulemzin and head of my administration Alexey Nikonorov, we believe we should focus on the safety of our people, because if we have a New Year tree there, people will be gathering there, and the enemy can deliver a strike anytime, ” Pushilin said.
“I ask you to show an understanding; we’ll decorate city streets to the maximum degree possible, but not excessively, ” Pushilin said in a video address.
Reports on Monday said that the installation of the main New Year tree of the Republic had begun in Donetsk’s main square.*jk
