Donetsk, Sep 29 – DAN. DPR capital administration will provide about 500 internally displaced people from shelled frontline districts with temporary housing in the central city, Donetsk mayor Igor Martynov told DAN news agency.
"We are persistently looking for housing stock opportunities. We have found some objects already, for instance, nine storied building on Rosa Luxemburg, 2a street, 500 people will be accommodated there," he said.
Martynov added that finishing and decoration work is under way in the building, once it is finished people will move in.
According to the mayor, the overall number of temporarily relocated during the conflict people amounts to two thousand and a half.
"Currently about the same number need rehousing," he said.
Relocating of residents of frontline zones has been going on since the war broke out in April-May 2014, when Ukraine military attacked Donbass residential areas. As of today, there are 8,646 registered internally displaced persons in the Republic, including 2,213 children.
