Donetsk, Jun 10 – DAN. Fisrt-level pumping station of Yuzhnodonbasskiy water duct has resumed operation today, after a two-day standstill due to Kiev's shelling, said water state company Donbass Water representative.
"We have just launched machinery, the station works all right, water is already being pumped to Krasnoarmeysk direction (Kiev-controlled territory)."
The interlocutor said that the area has been searched for unexploded ordnance, under the supervision of Russian officers from the JCCC and the OSCE SMM monitors.
In the night April 8-9 Kiev units shelled Yuzhnodonbasskiy water duct; as a result the 1st level pumping station was halted and some towns in the south-west part of Donbass remained without water, including Mariupol, Volnovakha, Krasnoarmeysk, Selidovo, Dimitrov, Rodinskoye and other.
The Uzhnodonbasskiy water duct is located in the ‘grey zone’ in the vicinity of Yasinovataya. Three pumping stations are linked to the duct; two of them supply water to Kiev-controlled areas. *ot
