Donetsk, Jul 12 – DAN. Donbass Choice campaign activists are organizing a meeting in Donetsk on July 16.
The campaigners call on the Ukrainian president Vladimir Zelensky to recognize the choice Donbass people have made.
“Donbass is tired of war. Our mission is to bring peace back to Donbass,” the soloist of the Donetsk State Academic Philharmonic German Rudnitskiy said.
He said he decided to organize a meeting for all the campaign’s supporters as he was taking a walk in Donetsk.
A member of the LPR social movement Mir Luganschine Mikhail Golubovich supported the idea saying that “the campaign has reached 1,000,000 signees on its website. We suggest to mark the achievement by a meeting.”
The action was launched in May 2019. Its participants demand that Zelensky give a special status to Donbass, stop the shelling of the Republics, resume the payment of pensions to residents and recognise their right to integration with Russia.
