Donetsk, Jul 5 — DAN. The medical centers in Makeyevka which were damaged in Tuesday shelling have not stopped operation and continue to admit patients, town mayor Vladislav Klyucharov told the Donetsk News Agency.
“They sustained damage but our doctors continue to work, ” Klyucharov said. “If medical assistance cannot be provided, patients are sent to other town hospitals.”
Damage assessment is underway. The main task is to clean up the streets and restore the insulation of buildings, the mayor said.
Earlier reports said that nine medical facilities and numerous homes were damaged in Makeyevka’s Chervonogrardeisky district by the Ukrainian missile strike on Tuesday evening.
The damaged infrastructure includes hospitals No 2 and 5, a blood transfusion center, a psychiatric hospital, TB, substance abuse and endocrinology clinics and two outpatient departments. Damage was also caused to 40 apartment buildings, 12 schools, 13 kindergartens, four sport facilities and two fire stations. One person was killed and 40 were wounded in the attack.
