Donetsk, May 1 – DAN. The commander of the 24th brigade Valery Gudz was behind the shelling of western Donetsk this morning, said the head of the DPR People's Militia command press service Daniil Bezsonov.

"Gudz organized an intense mortar shelling of Donetsk outskirts; following his command three mortar rounds of 120 mm were fired. The information on destructions is being specified."

Bezsonov said that about a week ago at a closed meeting of the JFO commanders, the notorious brigade  commander was reprimanded for the high level of non-combat losses as four intoxicated troops had been injured outside Mariynka.

"Another disciplinary action could mean losing his post, and Gudz decided to report violent clashes allegedly resulting in casualties and organized the shelling of Donetsk."

Ukrainian armed formations violated the ceasefire 12 times in the past 24 hours expending over 200 shells. The fire was opened by 30, 82, 24, 57 and 79 brigades of the Ukrainian army. *ot
