Donetsk, Oct 18 — DAN. The square next to the Government House in central Donetsk has been named after the Kremlin in honor of the Moscow sponsor.
The Donetsk City Hall’s resolution signed by the mayor on September 17 says that the name was assigned to the square north of the Government House in the city’s Voroshilovsky district.
In August, Donetsk mayor Alexey Kulemzin arranged an online poll to learn how people felt about assigning names to city places in honor of Moscow which was helping to rebuild the DPR capital.
“All Donetsk residents are immensely grateful to our Moscow friends, ” he wrote on Telegram back then. “The memory of brotherly help will be perpetuated.”
In August 2019, the square in front of the Government House was named after the first DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko.*jk
