Donetsk, Aug 24 — DAN. Ukrainian forces fired 200-plus rounds at the DPR on Wednesday. DAN presents its evening news summary.

Fighting and victims

The enemy used artillery, and mortars to target the DPR.

A civilian was injured in Donetsk. Six houses and a shed sustained damage.

In Gorlovka, a woman was killed by Ukrainian fire, at least 20 buildings were damaged; 200 customers are without power.

Offensive ongoing

A civilian was killed in Alexandrovka. The Galaktika mall in Donetsk caught fire as a result of shelling, the building was largely destroyed. A school, three houses and transport company were damaged in the Shirokiy district, another house was damaged in the Kuibyshevskiy district.

Another civilian was killed, two injured in Gorlovka; a boarding school and at least 11 buildings damaged, 32 transformer stations are without power.

Russian armed forces destroyed two ammunition depots outside Ilyinka, Kurakhovo, Artyomovsk, and Krasnaya Gora.

An MLRS Uragan, Grad batteries were destroyed outside Dzerzhinsk, Seversk, Artyomovskiy and Orlovka, as well as three howitzer platoons outside Soledar, Opytnoye and Antonovka.

The Russian armed forces delivered strikes on the positions of five Ukrainian brigades, liquidating 680 militants

Humanitarian efforts

Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Government to make a one-time payment of 10 thousand roubles to the families of schoolchildren from the DPR, LPR and the liberated territory of Ukraine.

The All-Russian Popular Front has created the custodian and support service for veterans of the special operation in the Donbass, its offices are expected to be launched shortly in the DPR, LPR and two Russian cities.

Russian construction workers began the reconstruction of the bridge over the Krynka River on the outskirts of Makeyevka, destroyed in 2014.

Eight high-rise buildings on Lenina Avenue in Mariupol damaged in the military action will be completely repaired by November 1. Works have been going on there for about a month, and 1,200 new double-glazed windows have been installed. Now the repair of engineering systems and roofing is underway.

Due to the shortage of water in the Seversky Donets-Donbass canal, it was decided to halt the key filtering station that feeds Donetsk, Yasinovataya and partially Makeyevka.
