Donetsk, Jun 28 — DAN. Concrete structures will be built at two bus stops in Yasinovataya to shelter passengers from Ukrainian artillery fire, said mayor of the frontline town Dmitry Shevchenko.
“We’ll put up a concrete enclosure at the final stop of Route 34, which will shelter people from shelling, ” Shevchenko told the Donetsk News Agency. “Another concrete bus stop will be built next to the Scazka store, a possible starting point for the Yasinovataya-Donetsk bus link.”
Installation works will be launched later this week, he added.
Earlier reports said that Yasinovataya authorities had received the license to start a bus service to Donetsk. The town has had no direct link with Donetsk since February 2022.
Yasinovataya, a key Donbass railway hub, is located 21 kilometers from Donetsk. The town has been a frontline since 2014 and is regularly shelled by Ukrainian armed formations. On Wednesday, a 32-year-old woman was wounded in a Ukrainian missile artillery strike at Yasinovataya.*jk
