Donetsk, Apr 20 - DAN. DPR ombudswoman Darya Morozova said humanitarian subgroup Ukrainian representative Irina Gerashchenko’s statement alleging DPR’s foiling prisoner verification was incorrect and provocative.

“I’m extremely indignant at the cynical statements by certain Ukrainian representatives aimed at discrediting the work of the humanitarian subgroup in Minsk,” Morozova said.

In truth, it was the Ukrainian officials who introduced last minute changes to the composition of the verification group, she said. In her opinion, Kiev does not understand the idea of the agreements reached in Minsk on 12 April.

“I emphasize that no provocative statements by certain Ukrainian negotiators can become an obstacle to the detainee verification procedure,” the ombudswoman said.

In this connection, she reminded that the humanitarian subgroup reached an accord on 12 April on verification of the detainees in the presence of their relatives, Ukrainian Security Council representatives and personnel from the office of Ukrainian ombudswoman Valeria Lugovskaya.

On Wednesday, Ukrainian parliament first deputy speaker, Contact Group humanitarian subgroup representative Irina Gerashchenko alleged DPR’s refusal to begin a POW verification procedure. *jk
