Donetsk, Aug 28 — DAN. The work to connect Svetlodarsk’s residential areas to gas supply lines has been completed, town administration head Maxim Kozlovsky told the Donetsk News Agency on Monday.

“Gas supply disruptions do happen because of the network wear and tear, but repairs are carried out quickly, ” Kozlovsky said.

The work to build a new gas line to the town began in early 2023.

Svetlodarsk is located 18 kilometers north of Debaltsevo. It was founded in 1968. In April, 2014, a rally in the town adopted a resolution in support of the Donetsk People’s Republic independence referendum. Ukrainian troops occupied the town in the summer of 2014.

The Russian coalition liberated the town in late May 2022. After the town came under DPR control, town residents were left without electricity, water and gas due to Kiev’s actions. The local electricity and water supply networks were fully repaired earlier this year.*jk
