Donetsk, Feb 27 — DAN. All homes in Mariupol will be connected to the centralized heating system by the end of this year, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin said on Monday.

“All homes in Mariupol will be connected to heat supply lines this year, ” Khusnullin told Russia 24 channel.

The main works to rebuild the maritime city are due to be completed within three years, he added. Priority is given to the heat supply system, electricity and water supply. Then construction workers will start general repairs of buildings. 

Mariupol is the largest city on the Sea of Azov coast, a key Donbass metallurgy center and seaport. It was liberated from Ukrainian troops on April 21, 2022. The city housing  stock and infrastructure sustained significant damage. Damage assessment and repairs are underway. The buildings beyond repair are torn down and replaced with new ones. Some 28,000 construction workers are involved in Mariupol rebuilding projects.*jk
