Donetsk, Aug 15 - DAN. Joint monitoring of safety levels at companies and other facilities in Kiev-controlled part of Donbass has exposed about 30 threats to regional ecology, acting DPR Deputy Emergencies Minister Vadim Kapustin told a news briefing here on Tuesday.

“The joint Inspection Commission had 16 meetings during implementation of the Donbass people reunification programme, at which it reviewed 28 facilities having negative impact on the environment and population in 14 towns and districts of Donetsk Region,” Kapustin said.

Five environmental hazards are located in Mariupol; Dzerzhinsk, Kramatorsk, Slavyansk, Artyomovsk and Konstantinovskiy District have three each and Avdeyevka, Selidovo, Kurakhino, Dryzhkovka and Volnovakhskiy, Novoazovskkiy, Telmanovskiy and Yasinovatskiy districts have one each.

According to the DPR Emergencies Ministry, the greatest risks were found at animal burial sites, Bakhmut Agrarian Union, solid garbage dumps, Pushka Kramatorsk Cement Plant, Mariupol Heavy Machine-Building Plant, Azov Ship Repair Plant and sewage treatment facilities of Slavyansk, Kramatorsk, Druzhkovka and Konstantinovka.

The joint Inspection Commission for monitoring and safety control at companies located in Kiev-held territory was set up upon DPR head Alexander Zakharchenko’s order within the scope of the Donbass people reunification humanitarian programmes. It includes representatives of all dedicated ministries, departments and government services, as well as scientists and activist.*jk
