Donetsk, Sep 7 — DAN. Fiber optic connection has been set up for 1,459 schools and colleges in the new regions, Russian Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media Maksut Shadayev said on Thursday.
“As of now, 2,600 facilities including 1,459 schools and colleges have fiber optic Internet, ” Shadayev said at a “United Russia” party conference over the new territories.
By March 1, 2024, fast-speed secure internet connection will be provided to more than 7,500 facilities including government and local self-rule bodies, institutes and organizations, he said.
Fiber optic technology provides fast and reliable data transfer via thin strands of glass which are not affected by weather changes.*jk
