Donetsk, Nov 16 - DAN. More than 10,000 residents of Kiev-held areas of Donetsk Region have attended DPR humanitarian programme events since early spring,” Humanitarian Programme Centre staff told Donetsk News Agency on Thursday.

“As of 8 November, DPR had run 216 cultural events since the launching of the humanitarian programme, including 11 free attendance actions involving 6,759 people from Kiev-controlled territory of Donetsk Region,” the Centre said. “Over the same period, DPR Sports Ministry arranged 144 events attended by 3,333 residents of Kiev-held Donetsk Region areas.”

DPR Culture Ministry has held four large events with total prize money amounting to 1,415,000 rubles since early spring. These events were attended by 300 residents of Kiev-controlled Donbass areas. DPR Youth, Sports and Tourism Ministry has also organised four large events with a prize pool of 1,880 000 rubles; they were attended by more than 1,000 residents of Kiev-controlled Donetsk Region areas.

On February 17, DPR and LPR Heads Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Plotnitskiy launched the Donbass people reunification programme. It provides for medical and financial assistance, quotas for higher and vocational education, sport events and measures to preserve spiritual and cultural values which residents of Kiev-held territories are welcome to join. *jk
