Donetsk, Sep 20 - DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic residents showed high civic responsibility by taking part in the election to the State Duma lower house of the Russian parliament, DPR Head Denis Pushilin said on Monday.
“The election to the 8th State Duma has ended in Russia. Russian citizens of the DPR were able to fully exercise their constitutional right to elect representatives of the legislative branch of power in Russia. We appreciate this right as no one else. I congratulated you on our common benchmark achievement. I wish to note the unprecedented turnover and unanimous choice which demonstrated high civic responsibility,” Pushilin said.
He thanked everybody who had taken part in the voting. “It is our common victory,” the DPR leader said.
Russia held the election to the 8th State Duma on September 17 - 19. Donbass residents who obtained Russian citizenship joined the Russian parliamentary election for the first time. They could cast their ballots at voting stations or opt for online vote.*jk
