Donetsk, Aug 11 — DAN. Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev has had his first ever meeting in Lugansk on Thursday with the Heads of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics Denis Pushilin and Leonid Pasechnik.
“On Thursday, I visited the Lugansk People’s Republic where I met with LPR and DPR Heads Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin, ” Medvedev wrote on Telegram. “I chaired a conference at the instruction of the Russian president, which was devoted to priority measures to ensure the security of the Donbass Republics.”
The meeting was attended by Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov, First Deputy Head of the presidential administration Sergey Kiriyenko, Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Minister of Construction Irek Faizullin, Federal Security Service Director Alexander Bortnikov and Investigative Committee Chairman Alexander Bastrykin. The participants also discussed the assistance to the economic and social development of the Donbass region.
“Special attention was paid to the harmonization of LPR and DPR laws with the Russian legal system, the rebuilding of infrastructure, repairs of hospitals and preparations of schools for the new school year, the solution of social problems and support of citizens, ” Medvedev said.
He said that Bastrykin had informed the participants about progress in the investigation of crimes committed by Ukrainian gunmen and the evidence gathered within initiated criminal cases.
It is the first ever report on Medvedev’s visit to Donbass.*jk
