Debaltsevo, Nov 2 – DAN. DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko inspected a house designated under the state program for the families from Debaltsevo whose residential property were damaged or destroyed during Kiev's offensive on Donbass.
"The house is ready to accommodate people. This is a good housing option, I hope we will continue these projects and will be able to provide dwellings to all those willing," Zakharchenko said.
The five-storied residential house is located in Vostochniy neighborhood of Donetsk with 40 apartments available: 22 two-room and 18 one-room. Initially the apartments were prepared as lodgings to accommodate internally displaced persons for the period of reconstruction of their properties.
"We had a discussion with colleagues and following the local authorities request decided that we should allocate these apartments on a permanent basis," DPR Head said.
The designing and repairs lasted for five month, the Mayor's office will be responsible for transfer of the ownership. People are to move in in the coming days.
The apartments are fully prepared: with redecorations done, vinyl windows and radiators, electric stoves, boilers, bathroom fixtures and communications in place the flats are waiting for their owners.
Deputy head of the Council of Ministers Dmitry Trapeznikov, the Ministry of Construction head Sergey Naumets, Debaltsevo mayor Alexander Reingold and others joined Zakharchenko on his inspection visit.
Earlier it was reported that lodgings for families who lost their houses in the course of the war would be constructed in six DPR towns. The first to take up the initiative were Gorlovka, Debaltsevo and Yunokommunarskoye outside Enakievo.
Ninety families are to be accommodated within the first stage of the state project.
