Donetsk, Sep 19 — DAN. Valery Skorokhodov has been elected head of the United Russia (ER) faction in the Donetsk People’s Republic parliament, a party official said on Tuesday.
“Igor Matrus, Timur Dyachenko and Natalia Pshenichnaya have been elected his deputies, ” First Deputy Secretary of the ER regional branch Sergey Prokopenko told the Donetsk News Agency.
The candidacies for the DPR parliament speaker from United Russia will be considered by the regional branch’s presidium; the selected candidate will be approved at the third stage of the party conference, Prokopenko said.
Valery Skorokhodov, a member of the 1st and 2nd DPR parliaments has headed the Donetsk Republic social movement. Earlier this month, United Russia established its faction in the regional parliament which set the objectives and elected the faction leadership at the first meeting.*jk
