Donetsk, Oct 10 – DAN. Russian presidential aide Vladislav Surkov has met DPR Interim Head Denis Pushilin today, Russian news agency TASS reports.
"During the meeting, preparations for the Head and parliamentary elections in the DPR were discussed, as well as social problems," Director of the Centre of Current Politics Alexey Chesnakov told Russia’s TASS.
"We had a detailed discussion over the situation in the DPR with Vladislav Yurievich. The operation of governance structures during the transit period has been highly evaluated. The professional and precise work of the Central Election Commission has been highlighted. Russia provided guarantees of support in everything related to security and rising living standards in the Republic," Pushilin said.
He said, "a number of humanitarian decisions will be made sound to raise salaries significantly to a number of social groups". Containing surge in prices for particular first necessity goods has also been named among priority tasks.
Chesnakov said that a high-rank official of Russia's Presidential Directorate for Cross-Border Cooperation Alexey Filatov, who is now curating humanitarian and political cooperation with the DPR and LPR, has also participated in the meeting. In particular, he is responsible for cooperation with Donbass concerning the election campaign, succeeding Maxim Polyakov.
"Filatov has curated relationship with South Ossetia, did his job properly and got a promotion," Chesnakov said.
Pushilin has invited Surgov to visit Donetsk this year, and said that he accepted the invitation. "I have ordered to work out possible timeframe."
