Donetsk, Feb 9 — DAN. Seven Donetsk People’s Republic servicemen who were released from Ukrainian captivity on February 4 will return to the Republic in the near future, regional ombudsperson Darya Morozova said on Thursday.
“Seven DPR defenders were freed in the February 4 POW exchange between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, ” Morozova said. “They were called up to the front as part of the mobilization campaign. This group includes students.”
Morozova said that her representatives have left for a Russian regions to collect the servicemen and take them home.
“One of the fighters was expected to be freed in October 2022. However, Ukrainian representatives took his name off the POW exchange list in last minute changes without explaining the reasons, making his family suffer for another four months, ” Morozova said.
Earlier reports said that 63 Russian servicemen returned from Ukrainian captivity on February 4.*jk
