Donetsk, May 20 — DAN. A deputy of the Donetsk Republic faction Sergey Prokopenko has been elected new Deputy Chairman of the DPR People’s Council, DAN correspondent reports from the parliament’s hall of plenary meetings.
The candidacy was suggested by the Chairman of the Parliament Vladimir Bidyevka. Prokopenko was elected by 79 votes.
He previously worked in the parliamentary committee for foreign policy, information policy, international relations, and information technologies.
Sergey Prokopenko has higher education, and served in various public agencies of the Republic. He was first elected in the Parliament in 2016, has numerous state awards. Prokopenko is also a members of the United Russia party and is its coordinator in the DPR.
Prokopenko substitues for Olga Makeyeva who has been appointed Ambassador to the Russian Federation. *ot
