Donetsk, Jan 24 – DAN. Any attempts to revise the Minsk Agreements shall make the process go back to square one, said the head of the Central Executive Committee of the Donetsk Republic social movement Alexey Muratov.
Ukrainian representative in the political subgroup Alexey Reznikov said in an interview to a Ukrainian newspaper that Kiev should be insisting on the revision of the Minsk Agreements. He proposed a formula of five stages: disarmament of the DPR and LPR units, their pullback from Donbass, installation of ceasefire, reinstallation of the border control to Ukraine, organizing local elections.
"As you can see, Kiev is suggesting to remove from the Minsk Agreements all the political aspects that are meant to provide guarantees to the participants of the conflict. Evidently it shall lead to filtration measures, deportations and prosecution of Donbass residents. The national security service is developing similar scenarios, politicians and officials are openly speaking about it, while right-wing radicals are preparing for a forces reintegration."
Muratov reminded that the Normandy Four summit had confirmed that there is no alternative to the Minsk Agreements, and Ukrainian president was one of the leaders who confirmed it. Apart from that, the Agreements are endorsed by a UN Security Council resolution.
"It is clear that any attempts to revise the Minsk Agreements shall make the process go back to square one, set it years back. Kiev must stop juggling the topic and embark on a consecutive implementation of the Minsk Agreements as they stand, there is no other way," Muratov said.*ot
