Donetsk, Mar 2 - DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic at the video conference of the Contact Group subgroup on humanitarian issues informed coordinator for the OSCE Toni Frisch about the worsening situation on the contact line, in particular at the only operating checkpoint between Ukraine and the DPR, the Republic’s ombudswoman Darya Morozova said.

“For my part, I informed the subgroup coordinator for the OSCE about the worsening situation on the contact line, in particular about Ukrainian armed formations’ strikes at Yelenovka that accommodates the only checkpoint and customs control facility on the border between the DPR and Ukraine that operates amid the pandemic,” Morozova said.

In this connection, the ombudswoman demanded at the video conference that full ceasefire be observed during the operation of humanitarian corridors and that this issue be put up for discussion by the Contact Group.

Meanwhile, the situation on the contact line has not been calm. Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian armed formations opened fire at the DPR territory twice. The strikes caused power outages at the Signalnoye and Luganskoye settlements outside Yelenovka; on top of that, houses and utility sheds were damaged at eight addresses in Signalnoye.*jk
