Donetsk, Nov 24 – DAN. Ukraine has declined to work on a road map for the implementation of the Minsk Agreements, the DPR Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
"Kiev announced today that they want to refuse to work on the road map, ignoring the Contact's Group direct and coordinated assignment, in order to get back to the discussion on the Donbass special status," the statement reads.
The Ministry reminded that the discussion of the region's status has been hampered by Ukraine itself.
"First they posited that their representatives at the talks are not entitled to document such accords, then the Ukrainian parliament adopted a number of regulations contradictory to the Minsk Agreements," the statement goes on saying.
This situation caused the necessity to develop a road map to pave a way out of the deadlock.
"That is why it is at least baffling and fundamentally counter-productive to refuse the assignment," the DPR Foreign Ministry said.
The Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements, approved by the Contact Group in 2015, envisions a constitutional reform in Ukraine which must result in a deep decentralization. The special status of Donbass is a key principle of the political part of the Agreements. Kiev also must coordinate all of its decisions with DPR and LPR representatives. *ot
