Donetsk, Sep 6 – DAN. The representatives of Ukraine in the Contact Group have to present their position on the Donbass special status law by the next meeting, said DPR acting Foreign Minister Natalia Nikonorova.

"Ukraine's representative in the Contact Group Leonid Kuchma had to confirm that by the next meeting the Ukrainian side is to present its position on all aspects of the Donbass special status law functioning. Though previously Mr. Kuchma had promised to present written position on the elections modalities at the upcoming meeting, but failed to do so."

"But the mere fact that Ukraine confirmed its responsibilities within the framework of the Contact Group gives us a hope to hear their responses to the main question on the political agenda – special status of our territories – at the next meeting."

Nikonorova said that after the abovementioned issue is settled the negotiators would be able to embark on a meaningful dialog on diplomatic solution to the crisis.

She pointed out that during today's meeting Kiev failed to present its official position on any of the topics.

"Perfectly aware of the law's utmost importance in settling political disputes, Kiev representatives indulge in idleness and silence in response to our urges to negotiate options to prolong and enact the law "On local self-government order in certain areas of the Donetsk and Lugansk region".

Today another round of the Contact Group talks took place in Minsk without any substantial results. *ot
