Donetsk, Feb 4 - DAN. Ukraine has not dropped charges against more than half of the people handed over to the Donetsk People’s Republic in the course of the prisoner exchange on the December 29, 2019, DPR ombudswoman Darya Morozova told the Donetsk News Agency.
“Sixty percent of the people passed to us during the prisoner exchange on December 29, 2019 have not been cleared of charges,” Morozova said.
The persons in question are still wanted by Ukrainian authorities and investigation against them is ongoing. Some persons have been cleared, and some had been pardoned by the Ukrainian president, she said.
Ukraine and the Donbass Republics exchanged prisoners on December 29, 2019 under the 124 for 76 formula. Kiev passed 61 people to Donetsk. Prior to the exchange, the Minsk talks participants agreed at a video conference that Ukraine guarantied to drop criminal prosecution of the detainees.*jk
