Donetsk, Sep 22 - DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic parliamentarians on Wednesday approved the 1st and 2nd readings of the law ratifying the treaty in the form of exchange of letters on establishing a common customs territory and developing economic integration with the Lugansk People’s Republic.
The document was supported by 74 legislators present at the session.
The law becomes effective after its signing by DPR Head Denis Pushilin and publication on the parliament’s website. The treaty itself comes into force after the exchange of the instruments of ratification between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the DPR and the LPR.
The Lugansk Media Centre reported that the parliament of the Lugansk People’s Republic ratified the common customs space and economic integration treaty with the DPR on Wednesday, too.
In early September, the DPR and the LPR agreed to establish a common economic space. The signing of a treaty on one customs space had to become the first step on this track, according to the declaration on the results of the top level meeting. The Republics adopted programs of socio-economic development for 2022-2024 that envisioned a significant increase in wages and pensions, dozens of thousands of new jobs, business support measures, export potential increase etc.
The implementation of the programs was launched on September 15, 2021, when the DPR and LPR Heads, Denis Pushilin and Leonid Pasechnik, signed a treaty on establishing a common customs territory and developing economic integration. *jk
