Donetsk, Sep 19 - DAN. Donetsk will support Lugansk’s proposal to reconvene the Contact Group subgroup on security issues in emergency session, Donetsk People’s Republic representative at the Contact Group talks, DPR Foreign Minister Natalia Nikonorova said.

Earlier reports on Tuesday said that Kiev had refused to participate in the emergency video conference of the security subgroup scheduled for 13:00. The parties were expected to focus on the release from Ukrainian captivity of representative of the LPR Office at the JCCC Andrey Kosyak.  The LPR then called for holding the meeting of the subgroup on October 20.

“The Lugansk People’s Republic representative updated their proposal and re-initiated the extraordinary session of the working group on security issues on October 20. Of course, we’ll support the brotherly Republic if we receive an official request, because the security issue of DPR and LPR observers at the JCCC has long needed a solution,” Nikonorova said.

The Donbass contact line situation has worsened. On October 13, Ukrainian forces abducted Andrey Kosyak, a representative of the LPR Office at the JCCC. He is still in captivity. On Monday morning, Ukrainian army units fired at Donetsk’s Kuibyshevsky district damaging the building of the Donetsk Mechanical Plant. Damage to five houses was recorded as well. On Monday afternoon, an LPR militiaman was killed in aimed fire delivered by Kiev forces. *jk
