Donetsk, Mar 19 – DAN. Kiev's suggestion to organize an emergency meeting of the security subgroup is a PR move, the DPR representative in the subgroup Alexey Nikonorov said.
The head of the Ukrainian president's office Andrey Ermak on Thursday, following the conference of the Normandy Four political advisors, suggested to organize a meeting of the security subgroup on Friday, March 19.
"As the representatives of Ukraine refuse any dialogue with us at the regular meetings of the working group on security issues, we believe the so-called "convocation" of an extraordinary meeting of the subgroup two days after the meeting, just to reproduce the already held "discussions", is another PR move of the Kiev's team aimed at convincing the audience of their peacefulness, while they continue the shelling," Nikonorov said.
He added that in order to ensure the silence regime in Donbass, the Ukrainian side simply needs to commit to the implementation of additional control measures agreed on July 22, 2020.
The Additional Measures to Strengthen the Ceasefire were signed at the Contact Group meeting on July 22 to reinforce and control the indefinite ceasefire in effect since July 21, 2019, the latest in the series of more than 20 reconfirmation and announcements of the “silence regime”.
