Donetsk, Mar 10 – DAN. The Ukrainian side chooses threats and blackmailing over constructive work to settle the Donbass conflict, the DPR Foreign Minister Natalia Nikonorova said.
The head of the Ukrainian delegation Leonid Kravchuk said speaking on the Dom TV that Kiev will allegedly present a new peace plan, and if the LPR and DPR refuse it Kiev will "be forces to mirror their actions".
"Kiev directly blackmails the Republics. Kravchuk speaks of some plan that we have never seen. But he is direct in saying that if Donbass rejects this scenario it will face a military scenario. Ukrainian delegation directly says that if is interested in ultimatums rather than talks within the Contact Group," Nikonorova said.
She said there are no doubts that Kiev's "new plan" is just another attempt to avoid the implementation of the Minsk Agreements.
Nikonorova also pointed out the inconsistency between Kiev's rhetoric and Ukrainian and Ukrainian army actions. "Kravchuk speaks about Ukraine's desire to reinstall peace while Ukrainian army keeps shelling Donbass populated areas."
She reminded Kravchuk that his task is to "provide an effective and coordinated implementation of the Minsk Agreements, not provoking renewed military action".
The peaceful settlement of the Donbas crisis is based on the Minsk Agreements dated 5 September 2014 and, followed by the 19 September 2014 Memorandum on the ceasefire implementation. On 12 February 2015 the negotiators signed the Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements; it sets forth immediate and comprehensive ceasefire in effect from 15 February 2015; withdrawal of heavy weapons, establishment of a security zone; discussion of modalities of resuming social payments in Donbass; a constitutional reform in Ukraine aimed at a profound decentralization of the state’s system of government. *ot
