Donetsk, Nov 2 - DAN. DPR People’s Council deputies passed 208 laws in three years, speaker of the Republic’s parliament Denis Pushilin said on the third anniversary of the 2014 election.

“Today, we’re marking the third anniversary of the establishment of DPR People’s Council. Over this period, it submitted 477 draft laws and approved 208 laws and 906 resolutions,” the speaker said at an extraordinary parliament session.

Deputies took part in 177 plenary meetings and 11 “Government Hour” sessions over the designated period.

“Dear colleagues, we’re facing much responsible work which requires all our internal reserves and the attainment of ambitious targets to counter the global challenges of our time. Given the special conditions in which deputies work, we have to work on ourselves,” Pushilin said.

The speaker handed in certificates of commendation to ten parliament administration staff.

DPR set up the People’s Council following the 2 November 2014 election. The Donetsk Republic social movement won a majority in the legislative body. As of now, the faction has 64 members; Svobodny Donbass (Free Donbass) faction has 30. *jk
