Donetsk, Oct 26 – DAN. DPR hopes that the countries guaranteeing the Minsk Agreements (Germany, France, Russia, Ukraine) will assist in implementation of Steinmeier's formula, the Republic's envoy to Minsk talks said.

"We couldn't count on constructive attitudes in today's discussion of the most important issue (implementation of the Steinmeier's formula) in Minsk. We hope that the states-guarantors will promptly influence the Ukrainian side so that at the next meeting on Nov. 9 we could move further in implementation of the Normandy Four recommendations," Denis Pushilin said.

He added that DPR still insists on implementation of the Steinmeier's formula that was proposed and approved of at a summit in Paris on Oct. 2, 2015. But Ukrainian side in the political subgroup has been protracting the talks for a year already, trying to remove the matter from agenda, and de-facto sabotaged the work on the issue.

"On the 19 October 2016 summit in Berlin all sides, including Ukraine, supported the Steinmeier's formula," Pushilin reminded.

Steinmeier ‘s formula outlines the principles of implementation of the Ukrainian law “On local self-government order in certain areas of the Donetsk and Lugansk region”. According to the German Foreign Minister plan, the law should be enforced on the day of local elections on a temporary basis, and permanently upon OSCE publishing its report on the elections outcome.
